How to Gain Custody of Children - What Makes You a Better Parent?
Legal Article GuideBy: Tina Root
There really isn't a right or wrong person for parenting. Both parents are equally needed in a childs life. Some things that can be looked at however is stability, can you provide for your children for everyday needs, such as food, shelter, clothing, medical care, etc.
The most important thing you can do for your children is to ask yourself the ultimate question.
Is this what is in the best interest of my children and their well being?
For some it is an easy question but for others it's not so easy. Some people want custody just so they don't have to pay child support anymore. Trust me when I tell you this, if you have the slightest doubt that you are ready to take on your children full time you may want to reassess your decision. Raising children costs a lot more than what you have to pay out in child support every month. But it's worth it in the end when you see that they are thriving in a better enviroment and showing them that there is a better way to live.
For those of you that are ready to take that giant leap prepare yourself for what could be a lengthy fight and very costly. Don't give up hope though. We went into this with no money and had to borrow retainers but we finally came through. Lucky for us we have an attorney that is willing to trade services.
